Not Living - Far Too Long ...

Fear of dying had nothing to do with my lifestyle choice. But, looking around, I know I didn't want to take 20-30 years to die like so many do these days.

When people ask me why I have made "drastic" changes in my lifestyle, they often assume I had some big health problems of some type. While my blood pressure had gotten high, and I was dealing with pain from RA, I wasn't on any meds and there was no ultimatum from a doctor or anything like that.
"Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever." ~ Deuteronomy 34:7 (NLT)
It was really more of a mid-life assessment sort of thing. I simply looked around and saw an awful lot of older people who didn't seem like they were really living to me. It wasn't just people in nursing homes, it was people I'd see at the grocery store and out and about - who had "done their thing in life and checked out" so to speak. They were shuffling around and talking to each other about all the meds they were on and where they were going to eat dinner.
So I started looking for those who I wanted to be like ... those like Dr. Wareham Ellsworth (Google him) and many others. I started researching longevity (less from a living long standpoint and more from a living well without chronic conditions standpoint). I discovered that much of our elderly diseases and chronic conditions have not actually been around that long. I researched epigenetics and found that just because you have the programming for certain conditions or diseases ... MOST of that genetic programming will NEVER express or manifest without the lifestyle that creates the condition for that malady to thrive.
It's certainly possible I could still suffer from Alzheimers or some form of cancer. But, I do know that my active and plant-based lifestyle has reduced the odds to the lowest levels possible. And, between now and whenever I do "go home" to be with my Heavenly Father, I will have TRULY LIVED far greater - with more energy and in greater service to others. That's worth it no matter what!
